Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions of microneedling are recommended?
6-9 treatments, 4-5 weeks apart. Treatment times as series vary and results aren’t guaranteed. Home care and daily habits are critical to achieving optimal results.
Should I prepare my skin for microneedling?
For optimal results, a period of effective active treatment products, such as Vitamin A, C or Resveratrol is recommended to allow the skin’s strength to build up.
How long should it take before I notice results?
Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4-6 treatments. Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and when combined with the recommended post-treatment care.
Is microneedling painful?
Topical anesthetic to be applied 15-40 minutes before the procedure to improve patient comfort during the procedure. Mild to considerate discomfort is expected.
Is there any downtime after my microneedling facial?
Generally facial redness for 12-72 hours after the treatment, but depending on your skin and the treatment performed, you may have up to 5-7 days of peeling, scabbing, and up to 14 days of redness or PIH for an extended period. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. The application of a breathable camouflage will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.
How soon after filler injections can I have microneedling?
It is recommended to wait at least 7 days after filler injections so that any post-treatment bruising from the fillers can settle. It is possible to have microneedling done before having fillers injected. Ask your injector to advise.

Treatment recovery timeline
Day 1: Erythema and red appearance and severity will depend upon how aggressive the treatment was performed.
Day 2: A red hue or pink hue persists like a moderate sunburn. Swelling may be more noticeable on the second day.
Day 3-5: Skin can be pink or normal color. Swelling subsides.
Days 2-7: Scabs may form over areas of scar treatments and skin may flake or peel. Do not pick or pull during the healing process as this can cause scarring or prolonged healing periods.
